McLaren 2011: different gear, still speeding :)

BERLIN - The new 2011 McLaren MP4-26.
McLaren Mercedes this morning brought together members of the public to construct and reveal its new chassis, the team’s challenger for the 2011 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
Revealed at Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz, the famous public space that sits on the fringe of the old Berlin Wall, the car was built up by fans and customers carrying components into the arena, where the new chassis was gradually pieced together in front of a huge crowd.
This culminated in our race drivers – 2008 world champion Lewis Hamilton and 2009 world champion Jenson Button – assembling the very final pieces to reveal the completed racecar.
Looking radically different from last year’s race-winning chassis, MP4-26 features a range of aerodynamic features designed to take advantage of new rules significantly limiting the amount of downforce that can be derived from the car’s underbody.

My sister sometimes worked as "umbrella girl" :) on the grid.
I drove some cars on this legendary F1 circuit, I know so well every corner since I was a child.

Some time ago the new McLaren MP4-12C was presented in Milan...'cause in Milan, England, we support McLaren, not "Ferraglia"... and McLaren motto is: "good enough is not good."
Debut at Goodwood festival of speed (do you remember Milano Alfa Romeo there)

Jenson Button: fuck! he's got a gun!

INTERLAGOS - I met Jenson in Monza, but he had no driver, he was driving his Mercedes with Jessica by his side.

British Formula One ace Jenson Button last night told of his terrifying escape from bandits armed with a machine gun in Brazil.
Jenson, 30, said the moment he spotted the gang from his car he shouted: "Fuck, he has got a gun!"
The world champion escaped thanks to brave police driver Daniel Toni, 34, who smashed the bullet-proof Mercedes saloon through parked cars to flee.
The bandits struck in a slum district of Sao Paulo on Saturday night as Jenson was being driven back to his hotel after qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix.
As well as the armed driver, his dad John, manager Richard Goddard and trainer Mike Collier were in the motor.
Jenson said: "We got to the traffic lights. Our driver always stops early. He doesn't pull up right behind the car in front.
"We saw a few guys gathering on the side of the road, maybe six or seven. They looked a bit suspect but we didn't think anything of it. Then Richard noticed one had a baton hanging down from his arm.
"Then I saw one guy was playing around with something in his trousers and it was a gun.
"The driver looked across. They saw him look and they started running towards the car.
"They were quite young, maybe in their 20s. Two had handguns and one a machine gun. It was massive."
Jenson added: "Our driver angled the car and floored it between cars where there didn't seem to be any space. He was a legend, absolutely brilliant."
John said: "He just bashed his way between the cars and kept going. He was almost going over the top of them.
"It wasn't until we got well away from the circuit that we told him to slow down and we all took a deep breath. The car was absolutely wrecked, though.
"It was like being in a movie. That police driver was a star."
Three-time world champion Sir Jackie Stewart said last night that Button - fifth in the race - could have been the kidnap target of gunmen linked to the drugs trade. Scotsman Sir Jackie, 71, said: "Security issues like this are a fact of life out here.
"Part of the danger is the risk of kidnap. Drug barons don't go out to kill people but kidnap them because they are linked to rich multi-national companies.
"In Jenson's case that means Vodafone and Mobil."
Jenson's McLaren team increased security for him and fellow Brit Lewis Hamilton, with a heavily armed police escort for the six-mile trip to and from the Interlagos circuit.
Hours before Jenson's escape, gunmen took briefcases off five Sauber team mechanics. And Virgin Racing's Brazilian driver Lucas di Grassi was robbed of a watch at gunpoint in his car.

England 2018

LONDON - Also Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton backs the bid: "This country's passion and knowledge for football is unrivalled anywhere else in the world. This country lives for the sport - whether that's in the biggest stadiums in the country, on a freezing, wet Wednesday night in the middle of winter, at home in front of the TV, or even in the playground: we live and breathe football. It would be a fantastic honour for us to host the 2018 World Cup. It would create a huge wave of sporting passion that everyone in this country would love to be a part of. That's why I'm supporting the bid for England 2018."
His team mate, world champion Jenson Button: "England would be a fantastic host for the 2018 World Cup and I'm really proud to back the bid. Having taken part in the Race of Champions at Wembley Stadium, I know that it would be a great venue for the World Cup Final. We have some of the greatest fans in the world and they would create an amazing atmosphere. I would love all my fans to show the England 2018 bid the same support that they have given me this season!"

win a racing day with Oasis fan Hamilton near Knebworth

MILTON KEYNES - Here's your chance to meet F1 ace Lewis Hamilton - and take him on at Go-Karting.
As part of the Vodafone VIP exclusive Daytona track day, we're giving away the chance for TWO lucky Sun readers and TWO friends EACH to meet the Formula One Champion and get behind the wheel to take part in the Go-karting endurance race.
Lewis will be there to give everyone his go-karting tips and tricks while you compete to try to beat his time at the Daytona Circuit, Milton Keynes (Milton Keynes Dons was Roberto Di Matteo team and ex Inter Milan Paul Ince).
You will also personally meet Lewis, have a "Sun Readers Team" photograph taken with Lewis and enjoy a real once in a lifetime opportunity to get up close and personal with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes star, who is still in with a chance to clinch his second Drivers' Championship title.
Race ace Lewis began his driving career in go-karting and now he's going back to his roots (and he was born in Stevenage - Knebworth, the biggest Oasis concert) and you could join him.
Lewis Hamilton added, "Vodafone enables its customers to have the best experiences, karting is where it all started for me and I love it! If you are one of the lucky winners you'll have a fantastic time, so please enter this competition. I will share some key tips with you to ensure your team has a good chance getting onto the top step of the podium!"
We've teamed up with Vodafone VIP to give two lucky Sun Readers and two mates each, the chance to take part in the money-can't-buy experience.
Firstly, you'll watch Lewis from the pits as he takes to the track to set a sizzling qualifying time.
Then it'll be up to you and your team to beat him, using your own race tactics to speed to the finish.
If you love motor racing, it's an experience you definitely won't want to miss.
For Roberto Mancini: the winners will be treated to a lunch and non-alcoholic drinks :)
To be in with a chance of winning, just answer one very difficult question:
WHICH TEAM DOES LEWIS HAMILTON DRIVE FOR?
If you win, let me be one of your friends :), 'cause I told you about this.

Jessica in Italy again

COMO & MILAN - Our muse Jessica Michibata.
When you're a tourist you might find people who try to cheat you, for example giving you simple mozzarella at the high price of mozzarella di bufala. If you don't know the difference, they can cheat you. They cheat tourists especially in Venice (terrible thieves), for example with the Japanese. Sometimes I joke with foreign people who visit me, I put salt on mozzarella and say: now it's bufala! ahaha

Como lake near Milan where Liam & Beady Eye always go (and also Button), it's the romantic place of the main Italian love story "I promessi sposi" (The betrothed) by Manzoni (with happy ending, unlike Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet), at theatre in Milan again in December (see here), while in June it was at San Siro stadium
do you feel hungry now? :) That was my purpose :)

Jessica Daisy style, McLaren boys the Dukes of Hazzard

SUZUKA - Lucky Jenson Button has his very own Daisy Duke-Catherine Bach to take to the track with him - Jessica Michibata.
Although his racing car is miles better than the Dukes of Hazzard boys' dodgy orange motor the General Lee.
The Formula 1 world champion took to Twitter to talk about his perfect preparation for the big race in Suzuka ahead of Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix.
You can hardly blame Jenson for being distracted by Jessica in her Daisy-style denim hotpants.
He could do with a bit of luck for the race - he is now fifth on the championship table.
Hopefully his girlfriend's home crowd will be rooting for our man.
But even if he isn't on the podium this weekend, his trophy missus is a decent consolation prize.

N.1 as Button's car :) and orange as McLaren 2nd colour. Series inspired by the 1975 film Moonrunners

McLaren silver Moon, Senna golden Sun

SUZUKA - (Photo @ Spa). Formula 1 weekend is starting this night at 2am Uk time... may Senna help us from above. His yellow sun helmet above, as Hamilton helmet. And both McLaren drivers became world champions in Brazil...
They race in Japan, rising sun, glorious for Milan and Oasis, sometimes McLaren as well.
...total Love for McLaren!

the Greatest, only with English teams

SINGAPORE - Formula 1 weekend again, but this time we're not going, lol. Singapore is too far :) I'm waiting for a Pretty Green gift, maybe the Grand Prix jacket :D
I've been writing so much about F1, and I can't forget to put something about him.
Ayrton Senna raced always with English cars: Toleman, Lotus, McLaren, Williams. I can't forget Donington 1993, where in the first lap he overtook all his rivals under a heavy English rain. When I was a kid I used to wake up at 4 o'clock in the morning to see him in Australia, Japan... he 'chose' to die in his beloved Italy ;(((

this is a song by Lucio Dalla (he also wrote one about Milan),
an Italian singer from the same place where Senna died.
Ayrton spoke a perfect Italian language,
this song also says he decided to go away in a land of dreamers.

Pretty Green Steve McQueen :)

LONDON - GP jacket, available also in white. Introducing the Green Label Autumn Winter 2010 collection. Very Formula 1 Grand Prix :), and it seems inspired by Steve McQueen, in fact Liam Gallagher said he loves him.
The colour palette is a combination of earthy darks and warm bright's. The fabrics are sumptuous and luxurious made from fibres; merino wool, lambs wool and high quality cottons. Key pieces for this season include the long awaited GP Jacket, the Hooded Parka and the outstanding tailored denim range.
